David Babelay (1941-2000) is most noted for his deep research into the origins of Knoxville’s French-Swiss community. His book “They Trusted and Were Delivered: The French-Swiss of Knoxville, Tennessee,” published in two volumes in 1988, was authoritative and encyclopedic in its coverage.
