Scope and Contents John J. Craig & Company, quarriers and dealers in marble, began operation in Knoxville in 1878. John J. Craig, Jr. (1860-1904) joined his father John J. Craig, Sr. (1820-1892) in 1886 and built their business into one of the largest of its kind in the South. The John J.
