Harvey Broome (1902-1968) was a lawyer, conservationist, writer of natural history. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee (1923), received a law degree from Harvard (1926), and was licensed to practice law in Tennessee and before the Sixth U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the U. S. District Court, Eastern District of Tennessee, Harvey Broome was one of the organizers of the Wilderness Society in 1935. 1) Approximately 100 letters from Anne Broome written to the donor between 1975 and 1983. Included is a beaver-chewed stick with Harvey Broome's mailing label attached, a letter from Anne describes where he found the object. 2) Research done by the donor for an article about Harvey Broome titled "A View in the Wilderness: The Miracle of Harvey Broome" published in Smokies Life Magazine, Volume 8, No. 1.
