Scope and Contents The Armstrong Family Papers consist of the business transactions and personal reflections of Drury Paine Armstrong (1799-1856) and his son Robert Houston Armstrong (1825-1896). In 1823, Drury P. Armstrong married Amelia Houston, the daughter of Robert Houston. Armstrong was a well regarded businessman and town leader and was appointed to several positions throughout his lifetime.
