Scope and Contents Interview with Mildred Truan by McClung Collection Director Steve Cotham.

Truan discusses her Swiss immigrant family's dairy farm in New Market in the 1800s, her family history, the Gouffon-Tryan cheese house on Tazewell Pike (now at the Museum of East Tennessee History), life on the farm and farming activities, teaching at the Ritta Elementary School and the school's integration.
