The 171 mounted 5"x7" black-and-white photographs were produced by the East Tennessee Community Design Center (Knoxville, Tenn.) to cover that part of the Mechanicsville area which falls outside the section covered in the Knoxville College historic district, as defined in the National Register of Historic Places.
