Social Security for Tennessee booklet
Social Security For Tennessee, 1936 book, Bulletin No. 5, prepared by the State Planning Commission as a preliminary study of the costs, requirements and qualifications of the state. 68 pages cover who is eligible, what benefits they receive, costs to the state, etc. This very new "New Deal" program was not understood by the majority of Tennesseans, as it included so many new programs, departments and theories. A pet project of FDR, it was disapproved by as many people as approved it.
