Shot at the home of James and Tilda Kemplen, Roses Creek, Tennessee. A group of men butchering a hog using an axe and crosscut saw. They cut the hog in half then remove the ribs and other parts of the hog. Some parts are brought into the house where Tilda renders lard, prepares the meat for storage and explains explains that some of the meat is taken to a store to chill and be cut up for packaging and sale.
