Joseph A. Sharp Collection (Sevier County, Tenn.) (genealogy).
Collection contains research on Sevier County, Tenn., families and subjects. Includes: articles written by Joseph (Joe) A. Sharp, Sevier County Historian, including his notes, research and correspondence with other researchers; newspapers and clippings; photographs; eleven Sevier County Chancery Court cases (saved from destruction by Joe Sharp in August 1951). The collection is divided into four sections: genealogy; subjects; newspapers; Chancery Court cases.

Boxes 1-8: 109 folders containing genealogical information on Ownby, Owensby, Owenby and related families, researched and compiled by Joyce Haige. Arranged individually, geographically, as well as by secondary family name. Includes some photographs as well as negatives. Boxes 9-10: 7 notebooks which contain census, public, and church records from 18 states, with emphasis on Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee. One of the notebooks contains photographs.

Kinsloe Daguerreotypes in cases. 4 items. Thought to be J.B.G. (James Bannister Gibson) Kinsloe and others. Two of {J.B.G. Kinsloe?}, one unidentified woman (badly damaged) , and one unidentified young African American woman (in back of case, printed: ‘Holmes, Booth & Haydens' Daguerreotype, Photographic and Ambrotype Goods’. No location or date.) J.B.G. Kinsloe was editor of a Knoxville newspaper during the Civil War, in business with W.G. Brownlow.
Kirtley Collection. (Gift of Gordon S. Kirtley)
Genealogy of Kirtley and allied families. The majority of the collection contains research on Kirtley, Thompson, Matthews, Roberts, Flora and some research on Early, Harbour, Mitchell, Morris, Rowan, Sims, and Jamison families. The research was done by Gordon Kirtley and his late wife. The collection includes one oversize Kirtley family chart (in Map Room); photographs; photocopies of maps; Hurricane Bridge and Huntington, WV, material; and two Civil War medals for James Alexander Flora.
