Scope and Contents Alice Jeanne Barkley, most often referred to as Jeanne Barkley, was born in White Pine, Tennessee on October 3, 1918, but moved to Knoxville at 18 where she would spend the rest of her life. Jeanne attended Knoxville Business College and the University of Tennessee. After her first job at Lawson McGhee Library, she worked for 40 years in the Alumni Affairs office of UTK.
