Family Bible given to Eliza R. Fain by her mother M.A. Moore, 1870. Eliza Ruth Moore married George Alexander Fain on July 21, 1854. Eliza R. Fain left the Bible to her daughter Kittie Rice Fain in November 1900. Eleven CDVs of Fain family members were found with the Bible. They were photocopied and the originals are in the box with the Bible. Subjects in CDVs include: Mrs. Eliza R. Fain and Mattie, Minnie Fain, Mrs. M.A. Moore, Belle Fain, and E.R. Fain.

This collection documents the Van Deventer, Rhea, Campbell, Cowan, Lynn, and Russell families. The major donors were Martha Rhea Van Deventer and her children: Robert, Laetitia, and Isabella. The collection includes many small artifacts, textiles, manuscripts, photographs, and artwork. Young Family Bible and photographs. Bath County, Ky. “The Holy Bible: Old and New Testaments” was published in Cincinnati by E. Morgan & Company in 1851. The bible also has a Young family genealogy (handwritten) inserted with the section of births, deaths, and marriages. The genealogy was written by V. B. (Van Buren) Young (1830-1892). 24 photographs mounted on cards are also included, unidentified but mostly taken in Mt. Sterling, Ky.
