Scope and Contents Alta Chloe Grubb was born June 20, 1907, and died February 2, 2001. Her parents were Jeff Davidson (or maybe Jefferson Davis) Grubb from Holston Valley, Tenn., and Alice Sophia Brown from Shady Valley, Tenn. She lived at 1031 Kentucky in Bristol, Tenn., her entire life. She never married and worked for H. P. King Co. at least from 1936 (stenographer) – 1946 (dept. manager).

Scope and Contents Three framed fraktur style pieces done by A. Marion Gamble in the years 1861-1865 at Forest Hill Academy near Gamble’s Store (Blount County?, Tenn.). Framed. One frame contains two pieces: colored artwork of birds and butterfly and banner with the word ‘penmanship and a bird. 21.25 x 13.75”. The other frame has a drawing of two birds in brown ink with a banner ‘penmanship,’ followed by a handwritten list of subscribers to A. Marion Gamble’s handwriting school, 1862.
