This collection contains various documents related to the Friends of the Library Book and Author Dinner in 1988 and BookFest of 1991 and 1992 including lists of authors, schedules, photographs, pamphlets, and newspaper article clippings.

Photographs and clippings selected from the Knoxville News Sentinel files weeded from their morgue; these files covered only a part of the alphabet where space was needed; the files have been heavily weeded through the years before these later files were weeded and given to McClung Collection. Photographs were kept based on quality and continuing interest.

Scope and Contents The Lillian Mashburn Collection contains newspaper clippings, brochures, and publications relating to both TVA’s Watts Bar nuclear facility whistleblower scandal and the Butcher brothers bank fraud scandal, both in 1980s East Tennessee. Other materials including correspondence, writings, real photo postcards, and genealogies reveal information about Mashburn’s ancestors and heritage.
