Interview with Dr. John Burkhart by McClung Collection Director Steve Cotham in 2003.
Burkhart discusses growing up in Knoxville in the 1920s and 1930s, attending Belle Morris Elementary School and Knoxville High School, Fountain City, street cars, medical school, his career as a physician at his private practice and St. Mary's Hopsital, Dr. Nichopolous and Elvis Presley, preaching at the Prebyterian Church and his work with local civic organizations.
