John M. Brabson handwritten book on surveying, 1814. 1 hand sewn volume, 11.5 x 17.5” 48 pp. Seller identifies John M. Brabson as being from East Tennessee and that he died in 1847 at age 49. He would have been about age 16 when the book was written in 1814. The front page lists John M. Brabson’s name multiple times (and it is found throughout the volume), and also lists other names including Washington Willet, John Good, John Davis, Samuel Duncan, Walter Scot (?), A.B. Brabson and others. Washington County, E. Tennessee also on cover. Pages contain topics such as plane geometry, geometrical theorems, etc. According to "Brabsonia" by Thomas D. Brabson (1949) John Miller Brabson, Sr., (1797-1847) was the son Thomas Brabson, (1771-1844), who was the son of the emigrant John Brabson and Mary Reese. This would make John Miller Brabson the nephew of John Brabson of Sevier County. John Miller Brabson, Sr, lived in Greene County near Limestone and became a lawyer there. He married Mary Noel of Tazewell, Tenn. He died young and left a number of children.
