Biographical / Historical
Kenneth Evans Scruggs was born November 20, 1912 in Clinton, Tennessee. Raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, he attended school there graduating from Knoxville High School in 1931. He worked at various locations until being hired by Tennessee Eastman Corporation in 1943 to work at the Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. After leaving in 1947, he worked in other jobs before returning to Oak Ridge with Carbide and Carbon Chemicals in 1951 where he worked until his retirement in 1976. He died June 17, 2009.
