"Save Our Mountains" pamphlet
Scope and Contents
Great Smoky Mountains Conservation Association, Knoxville (Tenn.), and Great Smoky Mountains, Inc. Asheville (N. C.), pamphlet, "Save Our Mountains." No date, early 1930s, 7 pages, photo illustrated pamphlet explains the current use of the lands, future use and restrictions, and makes an appeal for the Federal Government to step in and purchase the land, as it has in the past with other Parks, instead of making the purchase a burden on the citizens of the two states. Citizen purchase is also explained and on what terms, and goes on to say that effort has begun, although with mixed emotions on both sides of the mountains.
