Back of the card printed The KHS 100th Birthday Celebration May 29, 2010 HISTORIC KNOXVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Opened 1910 - Closed 1951 101 East Fifth Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee The World War I Doughboy Monument Erected in 1921 by officers and men of the 117th Infantry, 59th Brigade, 30th Division, 3rd Tennessee Infantry Regiment. Dedicated to the 1,818 casualties in the regiment. “To our living dead, that company of shining souls who gave their youth that we would grow old in peace.”
