Scope and Contents

1. Photograph of Mrs. N. Rabe, Knoxville. (woman seated in chair with pillow behind head). Taken by Stewart, Knoxville, Tenn. On card 4.25x6.5”. 2. Photograph, ‘Knoxville Home for the Friendless.’ Group of men, women and children in front of wood and brick building. Handwritten ‘Mama’ by one woman. No date. Approx. 7x5 x 8.5” mounted on larger board. 3. Composition book with ‘Act. of the Home of the Friendless.’ 1895-1896 handwritten records. Includes: names, age, date come, discharged. Also includes ‘Maple on the Hill,’ clipping entitled ‘Love,’ and small gold-colored ribbon imprinted with ‘Mission Home Orphanage.’ Back of volume: ‘Mrs. S.T. Ault, Rutledge Pike, Knoxville, Tenn.’ 4. Fifth Annual Report of the Mission Home and Hospital at Knoxville, Tenn. 918 State St. and 213 Front. St. For the Year 1894.’ Mrs. John R. Lauritzen, President. Printed, 6 pp. (1 pc.). Includes Physician’s Report and ‘Children In the Home’ (lists names and reasons). 5. Children’s Mission Home Friend. Knoxville, Tenn. Rev. J.R. Lauritzen, Spu’t., Editor and Publisher. May 1896. Vol. 1, No. 3. Includes list of some of the children and their circumstances. 6 pp., printed (held together by a straight pin).
