Chrisman Lewis blacksmith ledger, ca. 1850-1866. Blanche, Cherokee County, Ala. 1 vol. (some loose pages; masking tape on cover). + Photocopies of ‘Descendants of Chrisman Lewis’ and information on the Lewis Family by Charles Lewis. This Lewis Family is related to the Lewis family of the John Lewis Bible in the McClung Collection. Chrisman Lewis was born in Jefferson County, Tenn., in 1812. He married Anna Webb on July 18, 1839, and moved to Cherokee County, Ala., near Gaylesville first and then to Davis Crossroads, now known as the Blanche Community, about 1842. He was a blacksmith.
