Poems written in shorthand by Professor William Bolivar Smith (teacher and singing master, related to Governor Brown). Date in front of volume is 1861. Poems translated in 1935 by W. B. Smith’s granddaughter Mrs. Florence Corbett of Knoxville. Volume also contains diary entries for 1858; misc. accounts, ca. 1860-1861, and at back of volume, accounts, 1870-1871.
