Scope and Contents
Two handwritten volumes re: arithmetic, mathematics, etc. done by Michael Davis, ca. 1797. MM.1997.115 a: Vol. 1. Includes family entries for the John and Rebecca Davis family, the Josiah and Nancy Berry family, and the Thomas and Mary Neatherey family. Original entry dates go up to ca. 1843. Also includes : ‘A List of Jurors in Captain Williams’ Company, Knox County, Tenn.’ 1830; and 1831 list of support paid for Patsy Summers, a pauper of Knox County. MM.1997.115 b: Vol. 2. Includes short list of children who attended school; memorandum of payments to Michael Davis for teaching school in Knox County, 1807.
