Scope and Contents
Sketch book attributed to Auguste Burnand. Pencil sketches of Knoxville and local Swiss-American scenes, 1855-1856, Includes drawings of: Tennessee School for the Deaf / Old City Hall; Chavannes house; Dickinson (Dickenson) house; Sterchi farm; Rev. Martin house; Esperandieu house; Mr. Wallace house. Sketch book also contains drawings of rail /log making; barn raising; corn shucking; night hunting in Tennessee. Also added (from item found in McClung Collection’s Photofile): loose sketch “Les Verger pres Knoxville, Tenn.” (1850).
