Scope and Contents
Three framed fraktur style pieces done by A. Marion Gamble in the years 1861-1865 at Forest Hill Academy near Gamble’s Store (Blount County?, Tenn.). Framed. One frame contains two pieces: colored artwork of birds and butterfly and banner with the word ‘penmanship and a bird. 21.25 x 13.75”. The other frame has a drawing of two birds in brown ink with a banner ‘penmanship,’ followed by a handwritten list of subscribers to A. Marion Gamble’s handwriting school, 1862.
