Scope and Contents
The Tennessee Home Food Supply Program was a war relief program initiated under Gov. Prentice Cooper as a patriotic effort by which citizens could help the economy by becoming as self-sufficient as possible during WWII. The certificate for Mrs. and Mrs. Clay Lawson commends the Lawsons for growing at least 75% of the food consumed by her household, including what was necessary for livestock.
