Robert Tipton Nave Research. Carter County, Tenn. genealogy and history. 24 boxes of Client research and travel Robert Tipton Nave, age 87, of Johnson City, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015, in the Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, Tenn.-, he was the son of the late Elbert Vance Nave and Margaret Barnes Nave. Mr. Nave received his BS Degree from East Tennessee State University and received Master’s Degrees from the University of Tennessee and U.C.L.A. He was a retired school teacher having taught in Carter County, Florida and California and he was a member of the Watauga Association of Genealogists and was an avid genealogist. Mr. Nave was a U.S. veteran, having served in the Air Force and the Army.
