Russell Briscoe Cartoons and Drawings from World War I and later. 44 cartoons on 10 numbered sheets, all signed W. R. Briscoe ‘19. Two cartoons on one unnumbered sheet. Four “Lazy Luke” cartoons of five panels each, each signed Briscoe (printed?) Six cartoons of German soldiers. One small pocket notebook of sketches of fellow marines from the 401st Battalion of the United States Marines, “assembled Oct. 29, 1918 to take part in the world war against the HUN.” Humorous sketches of fellow marines and list of where they were posted later. Humorous poem (drinking song?) about soldier and women. Humorous pencil-sketch “1945 Catalogue of Outbuildings, the Outhousen Corporation, Kalamazoo.” Campaign card for Russell Briscoe for councilman for 8th district. Patch and buttons from military uniform. B/w photograph of Russell Briscoe in a military cadet uniform, possibly from Mt. Hermon School for Boys (Northfield, Mass.) which he attended. Pocket New Testament given to Russell Briscoe at his christening March 1,1900 in Bristol, Tennessee by Mrs. Pryor N. Smith.
