Scope: John Bell Brownlow Collection donated by William G. and Candy Brownlow, May 15 and June 2007. Gift includes manuscripts, business papers, photographs, clippings, and 1 artifact (housed in 3 boxes); 2 framed items; The Tri-Weekly Wig (in newspaper box); & plans in Flat Storage. Gift included 17 books that were moved into the McClung Collection's catalogued collection and 3 items transferred to the ETHS Sept. 6, 2007 [the 3 items transferred: 1.) a spoon 2.) unframed portrait of John Bell Brownlow- conservation by Cumberland Art 2007; and 3.) the frame for the John Bell Brownlow portrait. Frame was recd. June 2007 and was in the ETHS museum before the transfer papers were completed. An Inventory + Separation List is available; Donor Copy of Inventory also available. Items were listed for the May 12th, 2007 Southern Antiques Auction, Case Antiques. Subjects: Civil War, William G.
