Loudon County Historian Rhea Alexander’s collection includes correspondence and papers, photographs, research on families of Loudon, Blount, Monroe, Rhea, and Roane counties, Cherokee Indian families and records, typescripts of treaties with the Cherokee, Colony of Virginia Fort, historic buildings, “Beloved Landmarks of Loudon County,” Hiwassee District, Loudon Co. Bicentennial Film, tax lists, Civil War soldiers, Pioneers of Roane County, James Wyly grave, Regent Hiwassee Chapter DAR. Some items were moved into the McClung Collection’s catalogued library collection. He and friends spent about 5 years trying to put the material in order before donating it.
