F. W. H. Ottzenn's Award- Order of the British Empire. 1 framed document. Framed document-awarding membership in the Order of the British Empire to Colonel Friedrich Wilhelm Hans Ottzenn, Nov. 12, 1945. Ottzenn was a resident of Knoxville from 1945 until his death in 1971. The award contains a signature that is possibly written by King George VI. A photocopy of an article from The Knoxville Journal, July 25, 1948, concerning the presentation of the award + a photocopy of Mrs. Ottzenn's obituary are taped onto the back of the frame. In same box: The Flying Squadron framed photograph. 1 pc. The Flying Squadron, Bate Dem. Knox Co., Aug. 4, 1904" is written along the bottom of the black/white panoramic photograph.
