McCollum manuscripts, 1851-1947; U.S. Official Postal Guides, 1880-1904 (some gaps); diaries of Mary Fryar, 1940-1963; diaries of Lillie Hammontree, 1941-1950 (some gaps); programs from Carousel Theatre and other plays; writings, essays, research and notes by Edwin J. Best, Sr. Includes a number of papers he did for and on TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) and his related trip to India. Some photographs are included in the collection.

Boxes 1-12 were microfilmed in 1996. McClung Collection has negatives. Two bound volumes of the Maryville and Alcoa Daily Times (Oct. 1944-March 1945, April-Sept. 1945) were microfilmed by TSL&A.
