Scope and Contents

The first box of this collection consists of photographs, newspaper clippings, and documents relating to Belcaro, which was Ellen McClung’s family home. The rest of the collection consists of documents, correspondence, photographs, scrapbooks, and newspaper clippings relating to the life and interests of Ellen McClung Berry and her family. Her interest in historic preservation is reflected in material on Glenmore Mansion, Ramsey House, the Old Deery Inn and the Association for the Preservation of Tennessee Antiquities (APTA). There are four folders of written, typed and printed genealogical information on the Carter and Lawson families.
