John Wesley Reams Collection.
Scope and Contents
Collection of John Wesley Reams, Lowland Community, Hamblen County, Tenn. He was graduated from Mossy Creek College (now Carson-Newman College) in June 1879. He was a music teacher and a violinist. Collection consists of sheet music, entertainment programs, newspaper clippings (including Ted Shawn Dance Company and Lola McCormack), 1894-95 list of coffins sold, etc. 13 photographs received Aug. 18, 1981 (Joppa; New Market train wreck, 1917*; Mule Day; Asbury Marble Quarry). Snapshots identified on back as ‘New Market wreck, July 1917’--patron says they are possibly the 1917 wreck in Nashville rather than New Market.
