General

Provenance: Col. Samuel Lee King Jr. and wife Annie Phipps (1874, Rotherwood-1966), to their son John Goodson King (2/14/1903-12/3/1973) and his wife Nell Jansen (2/4/1906- ). The Phipps family crest would obviously relate to Annie, as does the McKinney crest (from her father's side). I'm not sure where the Laniers come in. Samuel King Jr.'s paternal grandmother was a Rhea, I believe. The Kings are the founding family of Kingsport (but lived in Bristol).
