The Calvin M. McClung Historical Collection is the history and genealogy department of the Knox County Public Library. The library was established in 1886, and the McClung Collection was opened to the public in 1921. The Special Collections Archive of the McClung Historical Collection contains rare and unique materials accumulated over the course a century including manuscripts, letters, business records, diaries, maps, postcards, photographs, and newspapers that chronicle the history and development of East Tennessee.
